Arcadia LARP Wikia

All characters have all three resource pools but don’t necessarily use them all. Our understanding of the three pools is Mana for the Mind, Stamina for the body and Spirit for the Soul. All active perks relate to this understanding and have a cost of one or the other assigned, in some cases sometimes two; where each cost must be spent every time the perk is used. As long as a resource pool has at least 1 point it can be used. As with hit points, these resource pools cannot be negative, so expending more points than are currently in a pool simply drops that pool to 0 points, see each pool for details on consequences. After a night’s rest a character’s stamina, mana and spirit pools are completely replenished to their maximum values. This assumes the character slept for the night, and does not occur if they stayed awake for any reason.

Stamina[]

A character’s stamina reflects their physical endurance and ability to resist fatigue. Certain perks need stamina for activation. In addition to resting for a night, food resources can be consumed to restore an amount of stamina equal to the resource’s food value so long as your character is not suffering from the starvation flaw. Some potions may also restore stamina. If a character’s stamina drops to 0, the strain of their efforts has exhausted them and the character becomes slowed until they regain a point or more of stamina. At basic, a character has a maximum stamina pool of 10 which can only be increased to 20 by taking the relevant perks.

Mana[]

Mana is a character’s magical energy, a resource by which one can manipulate the fabrics of reality around them. Certain perks need mana for activation. In addition to resting for a night, a character can meditate in an area of concentrated magic to restore an amount of mana depending on the potency of the area. Some potions may also restore mana. If a character's mana drops to 0, they have exhausted so much of their own magical energy they become unconscious. The character regains consciousness only when they regain a point or more of mana. At basic, a character has a starting mana pool of 10 which can only be increased to 20.

Spirit[]

A character’s spirit pool represents their inner strength to channel their faith in their deity. Certain perks need spirit for activation. The only way to restore a character’s spirit points is through a night’s rest. There are other methods for recovering a small amount of spirit during the day such as the meditation perk, though there are no potions to restore spirit. If a character’s spirit drops to 0, they have exhausted themselves spiritually and fall unconscious. The character regains consciousness only once their spirit pool regains a point or more. At basic, a character has a spirit pool of 10 and there is no cap on the spirit pool.
